QAIS MALHAS FOR MARAKEZ

An intimate dinner featuring chef Qais Malhas curated by FR Ventures for Marakez hosted at Ramla in celebration of Azza Fahmy Jewellery. Titled The Table as a Living Craft, the experience unfolded across Ramla’s tidal pool, weaving the dining experience and the table itself into the evening’s narrative. Long tables brought together food, clay and craft through a shared language of materiality and the handmade. Hand-shaped vessels and sculptural forms created an abundant landscape of terracotta, glass and native Southern Mediterranean florals, translating the collection’s spirit into material, form and movement.
Qais Malhas of Shams El Balad created an eight-course menu rooted in the ingredients and culinary language of the region. Contemporary in expression yet connected to tradition, the menu traced the shared ingredients and food cultures that have travelled across Egypt, the Mediterranean and the Arab world for centuries. Against Ramla’s shore, the four dining platforms became floating ateliers—alive with food, clay, movement and light.
